I am currently building HR software for a startup company. My team is working on the frontend and backend separately. Yes, for the frontend, we’re building with React and Material-UI to keep the UI clean and responsive. On the other hand, we shortlisted some backend solutions from here https://blog.back4app.com/backend-as-a-service-baas/. Indeed, our team is willing to rely on Backend-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions to handle all server-side functionality easily.
Hereof, we chose these options:
- Firebase: This Google-backed BaaS is perfect for real-time data and auth, but scaling can get expensive.
- Supabase: This is an open-source, SQL-powered platform. It lets you work efficiently for authentication and flexible workflows.
- Back4App: It is a developer-friendly Parse-based platform. This open-source, free-tier BaaS includes ready-to-use file storage and permissions.
- Appwrite: A complete open-source BaaS, great for custom functions and secure authentication.
If I talk about the requirements, we are looking for a BaaS that can manage users and roles, ensuring proper access for admins, managers, and employees. Furthermore, the BaaS should keep employee profiles, payroll, leave, and performance databases organized and securely store sensitive files such as contracts and tax documents.
So, I am looking for your suggestions on this matter.
