Hi everyone, I need to vent a little and also get some real recommendations because I'm tired of feeling like every time I take my car somewhere I'm being taken advantage of. I own an Infiniti FX35 that I absolutely love and I try to keep it in good condition because I want it to last me a few more years at least. Last week I took it to a garage in Musaffah for a simple brake pad change. The guy called me two hours later and told me that my rotors are completely finished, my calipers are sticking, and I also need new suspension links on both sides. The total he quoted was nearly 6000 dirhams. I told him to just do the brake pads and let me think about the rest. When I picked up the car he seemed angry and kept saying I'm risking my safety. I took the car to another garage the next day for a second opinion and that mechanic said my rotors have at least another 15000 kilometers of life left, the calipers are fine, and the suspension links have normal wear for a car this age but don't need replacement yet. So now I don't trust anyone. I'm searching for the best Infiniti garage Musaffah has to offer but honestly I don't even know how to tell the honest ones apart from the ones that just see me as a walking wallet. Has anyone found a place where the mechanic is willing to show you the problem on the lift and explain things without pushing unnecessary work? I don't mind paying a fair price for quality work but I'm done with these fake diagnosis calls. Please share names of specific garages you have personally used and trusted for years.
