An avid Starfield player recently took to Reddit to share a creative concept for enriching Vasco, a robotic companion in the game, by introducing the ability to customize or build Vasco units from the ground up. Vasco is a prominent robotic companion in Starfield and serves as players' initial follower, making this concept an intriguing prospect to elevate the gaming experience.

Even before Starfield's official release, Vasco had already gained popularity among fans through promotional material. Vasco in Starfield is an expeditionary robot created by Lunar Robotics, and players encounter it early in the game. In the typical fashion of Starfield companions, players can utilize Vasco to carry surplus loot and benefit from its unique dialogue options and combat assistance. However, one fan has envisioned a way to enhance Vasco further.

Reddit user Spartansoldier-175 showcased their Starfield concept through a series of images in a post, demonstrating a fondness for Vasco. The screenshots primarily focus on various designs, showcasing diverse forms the robot could potentially assume. These range from a robust tank-like robot to a dog-like quadruped. Inspired by Fallout 4's Automatron DLC, Spartansoldier-175 suggests that their concept would enable players to customize Vasco akin to the customization options available for Starfield spaceships or even construct one from scratch. Given the abundance of resources in Starfield, players could presumably gather these resources to fabricate different parts for their custom Vasco.

In addition to altering Vasco's design, Spartansoldier-175's idea includes the possibility of adjusting its color to craft the perfect robotic companion. The screenshots depict Vasco in various colors such as black, blue, gold, red, and white. The color palette would likely align with the one used in the Starfield spaceship designer. While Starfield ships have their limitations in customization, modifying Vasco could potentially become a favorite feature among players, amplifying their attachment to the companion.

Introducing another layer of customization to Starfield could accentuate player freedom and enhance replay value. If this concept were to be integrated, players might need to visit Starfield's Lunar Robotics to modify their companion Vasco. Given Bethesda's history of incorporating robot-building elements through DLC in previous games, there's a possibility that this concept may find its way into Starfield. Although fans express their desire for this enhancement, Bethesda's precise plans for Starfield DLC remain undisclosed.
