I’m trying to decide whether to book a spot on an open car carrier to save money or pay extra for a closed container to protect the car from rocks and road salt during transit across several borders. Does anyone have contacts for reliable freight forwarders that insure paintwork rather than issuing general “total loss” insurance? Also, what is the current situation at customs posts regarding deposits for transit plates? I don't want my car to get stuck in the customs clearance zone for weeks due to bureaucratic delays.
